Gavin Leeper is the founder, community director, and root note of the chord that is Sharp15. As a self taught jazz musician and Japanese culture aficionado who lived in Japan, Gavin is regarded as a YouTube expert on the music theory of anime music, Japanese VGM, and other contemporary Japanese genres. He has performed in bands across the US and Asia spanning a wide range of styles, and has worked with many Japanese musicians. A former Data Scientist at Spotify Japan, Gavin has dedicated the past 3 years of his career to composing cinematic music inspired by Japanese composers, and understanding the Japanese music industry. He is currently based in New York.
